The White Horse Hotel located at the corner of Lowry and Pelican Streets, North Ipswich was one of the earliest public houses in Ipswich.

Frederick Chapman applied in April 1865 for a license to open the hotel. The property had 7 bedrooms, 3 sitting rooms, stables and paddock. It seems to have been a short-lived venture.

In 1867 the hotel was offered for lease and there was an attempt to transfer the license. However neither of these options seem to have been successful. In 1881 it was listed for sale as part of the deceased estate of Dr Rowlands. Certainly the White Horse Hotel had "disappeared" by 1898.

Later, Mrs Mary Garner lived on this site in Lowry Street with her husband who was a butcher in North Ipswich. Mary died in 1928.
