Description
DescriptionTattoo held at Bundamba Racecourse, Saturday, October 24 1936. The Tattoo featured traditional activities such as tent-pegging, formation displays with the Light Car Troop and aerial events. Two air races were held around Bundamba and Blackstone, the first by three women pilots flying Gipsy Moths. In a foretaste of the conflict soon to come, it also featured a simulated "dog fight" and a bombing raid on the racecourse, complete with explosions, a fire and the removal of casualties.
