DescriptionImage in 'Book of Views' published by Macfarlane & Sons to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria in 1887. This lithograph is part of a series that was believed to be commissioned by Macfarlanes, from original photographs and processed overseas. The Palais Royal was on the corner of East Street and Brisbane Street. The site was originally the residence of George Thorn Sr and family from 1859 until 1863 when they moved to 'Claremont' in Milford Street.
