DescriptionGeorge Williams Vincent was born in Ipswich in 1909 and attended Ipswich Grammar School. He was a prefect in 1926 and played tennis on the school team. George passed the Senior Public Examination from the Ipswich Grammar School and attended the Dental College of the Queensland University becoming a Dentist. For two years he studied abroad gaining a degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. He started his practice at 36 Park Street, Ipswich, later moving to Commercial Bank Chambers, Nicholas Street, Ipswich. In 1939 George enlisted into the Royal Australian Navy and served until 1948. George married Salme Perkman in Sydney, New South Wales in 1942. They resided at Court Street, Ipswich. Dr Salme Perkman was a medical officer at Ipswich General Hospital. They had four children: John, Julie, Trevor, and Laura.
