DescriptionOliver Pocock born 21/3/1853 to James and Mary Pocock (nee Alford) in Catcott Somerset England. Emigrated to Moreton Bay in 1857 on board "Mary Pleasants" along with his parents and older brother Henry. They lived at Bundamba in a slab hut. Oliver married Annie Elizabeth Rolley on 28/4/1880 at Stanthorpe. Their first 3 children were born in Stanthorpe (Lucy,Alice and Sarah), their son Oliver was born at Harrisville then the remaining 13 children were born in Ipswich(James, Anthony, Annie,Samuel, George, William, Ruby, John, Henry, Harrold, Herbert, Joseph, Ernest) 14 out of the 17 children lived to adulthood. Oliver died on 16/5/1920. The family lived at Brassall in 1903 and at Amberley from around 1905 to after Oliversdeath. In 1925 the family home was moved from Amberley to 21 Tallon St Sadlers Crossing.
